Lough Arrow at the foot of the Curlew mountains on the Sligo/Roscommon border, has some of the finest wild trout fishing in Europe and is especially popular during the May fly season!
The Lake is about 14 miles from Sligo Town, it is 5 miles long and nearly 1.5 miles at it's widest point.
Lough Arrow is located about six miles west of Ballymote and four miles north west of Boyle, Co. Roscommon.
The lake's waters are fed by natural spring wells.

Prominent in Irish mythology, the ancient battlefield of Moytura is on the eastern shore of Lough Arrow.
The 14th century, Ballindoon Abbey is beside Lough Arrow and built in the Middle English Gothic style.
Thought to be a passage tomb, Heapstown Cairn has not been excavated.
