Ballisodare village is situated five miles from Sligo Town, just off the N4 main Sligo/Dublin road. Ballisodare (Owenmore) river has some excellent salmon fishing and the falls are a splendid sight. Middleton & Pollexfen, relatives of W. B. Yeats, owned flour mills in Ballisodare. The poet had fond memories of his visits here and Ballisodare is the probable location of his "Sally Gardens"
